Grade 6 Term 3 English PBL: Fairy Tales

This unit offers support for Project Based Learning (PBL) Projects required by the Department of Basic Education. Term 3 requires grade sixes to execute a PBL Creative Writing Project. Whilst promoting reading, speaking and writing, there is a focus on the elements of planning and executing personal research on a specific theme or topic. Pupils are firstly inspired within a specific genre of English (folktales, short stories, drama, novel, poems, songs) and then they need to complete their own research, motivated by a specific question or statement. They report back on their findings utilising oral as well written work presentations, offering their personal thoughts and ideas on the topic.
